About the original T55

Seasoned rail enthusiasts are undoubtedly familiar with the historic T55 in Fort Worth, Texas. Though the interlocking t structure is now out of service, T55 represents an important piece of rail history and our company name is a tribute to that spirit. The site of the original T55, built in 1904 (and later rebuilt and updated around 1930), marked the intersection of ancient migratory trails of Native Americans and buffalo, later called the Chisholm Trail and the Emigrant Trail. With the advent of the rail system, T55 became the main crossing point for all great railroads with lines running through the American Southwest. At its peak, T55 was estimated by experts to be the busiest t in the Western United States, with an average of more than 100 movements in a 24-hour period. The t utilized state-of-the-art railroading technology up until its closing in May 1995. Though this particular railroad era has come to an end, T55 Products carries on the tradition of excitement by introducing model train enthusiasts to a new era of imagination.
